Soft contact lenses
Soft contact lenses are made of durable plastic and rest directly on your eye surface. They are used for refractive error correction, cosmetic, and medical purposes such as bandage.
Soft contact lenses are categorized in groups based on their material, wearing schedule, replacement time.
• Material: Soft contact lenses are made of either hydrogel or silicon hydrogel.
In new generation of silicon hydrogel lenses, BYO COMFORT, hyaluronic acid is used. This makes the matrix of the lens extremely compatible with biomechanics of the eye, gives excellent smooth surface and offers exceptional wearing comfort.
Also in the generation of BYO Promedics, the matrix of the lens is made in such way to resemble the molecular structure of the tear film, thus making the tear film more stable. As well as wet, smooth surface, this soft contact lens will give you clear all day vision and extra wearing comfort. Being nonionic and deposit resistant, BYO promedic is dehydrated less and hence is an excellent choice for patients with dry eye.
•wearing schedule: Soft lenses are worn either as daily or flexible wear.
Daily wear means contact lenses are used during waking hours and are removed before sleep .BYO premium lenses are daily lenses.
Flexible wear contact lenses are worn continually for 7 days and 6 nights. Usually these kinds of contact lenses are thinner and have less water content, hence making it suitable to wear during sleep. Your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist has to approve the use of these lenses .BYO Comfort and BYO Promedics are flexible wear lenses.
•Replacement time: replacement of these lenses can be either monthly or every 6 months.
BYO premium lenses are daily lenses.
